I called for an Emergency with my cat who was having troubles breathing early Saturday morning. He was fine when I went to bed at 1245 but at 0445 he woke me up. I heard him step on a slipper next to the bed. Then it happened again and he made a noise like he was coughing or going to throw up. I got up and turned on the light. He was in his cat tree hiding. I pulled him out and he was open mouth breathing. A couple of times he acted like he had to throw up. But nothing came up. When I called the receptionist said she figured it was more than issues breathing. She said it was too late. There was nothing they could do. We had to drive an hour away. He suffered the whole way. Struggling to breathe. He died 10 minutes from the vet we had to go to. He let out this awful cry. Was wretching around and then his heart and breathing stopped. 3 last minute breathes escaped him. He was gone. I’ll never unhear or unsee this Even if there was “nothing” hey could do for him. They could have scheduled us to come in so he didn’t have to suffer an extra hour 😢😢😢 I’m devastated. My bottle baby died at not even 8 years old and I’m absolutely devastated and my heart aches with so much pain. This is m beautiful sweet boy who I’ll never be able to snuggle with or pet again. 😭😭😭😭😭
