I had an appointment today at sloten and i called and said i will be 10 minutes late and the assistant called me it's ok i can still come, then someone called me when i was on my way at 9.07 am said i have to make a new appointment, i told her that you said i can be 10 min late she hung up the phone on me then i arrived she said yes i did so and you have to make a new appointment then i told her i want to talk to someone else she called the doctors and said something funny about me in dutch everyone laughed I find it a very inappropriate attitude from someone who is supposed to provide a service And if the assistant who i called told me you can't come 10 minutes late i wouldn't have come But we have two problems here 1- the worker who told me that you can come 10 min late then someone else called and said no 2-the worker who hang up on me and then made laught of me in dutch and everyone and all her other colleagues laughed at me

Terrible Experience with the Help Desk I brought my puppy in for vaccines two days ago, and this morning she woke up with a swollen face—a clear emergency. Naturally, I expected to bring her in immediately, but when I called, I was told there were no available spots. How is that possible for an emergency? You should make a spot available - I am a client how can I trust a place like this? When I called another nearby vet, they also had no appointments but still asked me to bring her in immediately so she could be seen right away. That’s the kind of service I expected from you. I'm extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled. In an emergency, the response should be different. This experience has really shaken my trust in your service.

It’s been 5 months since the incident at Caressa that stopped me from coming here for check-ups and emergencies for my dog Oliver. I want to share what happened with us. Oliver has been a patient at Caressa for 2 years. He successfully had has puppy teeth extracted there. We were happy with the treatment and service until one Saturday we went to Caressa for an emergency regurgitation since Oliver swallowed something he shouldn’t have. A few weeks prior we had his annual check-up and the vet said everything was fine. During the emergency visit, the vet gave him the shot that would make him regurgitate and I helped my dog let it out. I was already concerned about him, as any dog parent would be. Then the vet checked his heart and told me abruptly “Your dog has a heart murmur. I’m surprised my colleague didn’t hear it.” I was shocked and asked for more information. “Are you sure? What does this mean?” She was annoyed and checked again and said “Yes I’m sure. You’ll have to come back in 4 weeks to do more testing”. I didn’t know anything about a heart murmur at that time, and to have this information dropped like a bomb to me about my 2 year old dog who just had an emergency felt cold and insensitive. When she wouldn’t give me further information to reassure me also made me feel confused and scared. What she said might seem like normal, direct behavior to others, but in my opinion, when you are in the business of animal care it’s important to be empathetic to the animals and their owners. I proceeded to do extensive research about heart murmurs. The vet didn’t factor in that Oliver was very nervous at the appointment and that may have caused his heart to race faster. I got an appointment at another Vet, Osdorp Dierenkliniek, where Oliver went for his first puppy vaccinations, to get a second consultation. The vet assistants there were so much more sensitive and empathetic. Two of them took turns listening to his heart. And they scheduled an appointment for me with their most experienced vet to do the echohart (ultrasound). The vet said Oliver was calm and it was very quick. She said he has a Grade 1 slight murmur but his heart is very strong and sporty. The thickness of his heart is normal and there is just a slight turbulence in the flow. His behavior is what matters the most and as long as he’s sleeping, eating, and playing normally then there’s nothing to be worried about. I can count his breaths once a month and he can get a check-up every 6 months. This is the kind of treatment I expected. Therefore, I decided to no longer choose Caressa due to that disturbing incident.
