As an expat this was my first vet experience in the Netherlands. We had our first visit in December 2022 where we also got our annual shots and a senior check up. Everything was detailed checked, together with tons of questions regarding her medicatie background. I'm more than satisfied with the vets and the service they provide 😊

I want to share my experience of going to this clinic. It all happened suddenly: the cat coughed up to vomit, this condition lasted intermittently throughout the night. It was unclear what caused it. But we suspected a foreign body in the larynx. On recommendation we chose Dierendokters Utrecht. Of the pluses, which we liked very much right away: 1. Dr. Maria tried to gather as detailed a medical history as possible (if possible, she also asked to request a medical history from the clinic in the country where the cat had lived before to add it to the patient chart). From what I have seen, not many doctors are this attentive to their patients. In addition, she explained to us every action she took regarding the animal. She has a very busy schedule, but she sacrificed her time to help us with an unscheduled laryngeal probe procedure. 2. The clinic treats the table after each patient (this is important and I have not seen this at other clinics). 3. My cat was given a laryngeal exam with special equipment. In doing so, Maria provided me with pictures and explained what was shown on them. She also came out to me three times and kept me informed of everything that was going on with my pet. 4. The cat was given a myorelaxant (not a deep anesthetic), but unfortunately that didn't help, so they added a combination anesthetic, which is normal and professional. 5. A nice little detail that also shows their attitude toward the patient: they put moisturizing ointment on the cat's eyes to keep them from drying out while he slept under anesthesia so he would feel comfortable. 6. Most importantly: the cat was woken up before the anesthesia was given. 7. When the doctor came out to me to make recommendations, she also made recommendations about ongoing dental problems. I asked her about the exam and she said: "That's what I always recommend." By the way, at other clinics, even at our request, they refused to give us a checkup for no reason (even though it is just the norm to have a preventive exam for our pet 1-2 times a year). I express my respect to Mary for her responsible approach to business! 8. One of the medications raised questions for me. She said she would do research on it. About 20 minutes later she came back with an answer and the issue was completely resolved. 9. I know that many people in the reviews resent the price. First, the service and professionalism of the doctor I received here was worth every cent I paid. Second, nothing is more important to me than the health of my pet. And third, a professional's work should be paid decently, and you know it. And if you're not willing to pay for the work of a good professional, you'll get a cheaper service elsewhere, but not the fact that you'll get a really high-quality service. 10. I am very happy with my visit to this clinic and see that I can trust Maria with my pets. Of what can be called some disadvantages in the clinic: 1. lack of ultrasound machine. Sometimes it is really badly needed... And I have an important question: whether the clinic has narrow specialists and the opportunity to make an appointment with them (just in case). All in all, this is the first visit to the vet in the Netherlands that was not useless. Thank you very much! (^‿^)
